Dental & Orthodontic Therapist Recruitment Process

Dental therapists play a big part in helping us provide the highest quality dental care across our 600-strong network of practices, and we’re always looking for talented and compassionate individuals to join our team.

With the help of our fantastic practice and central support teams, you’ll be free to do what you do best; and with the largest clinical referral network in the country, you’ll never be short of fulfilling and rewarding work.

Our hiring process

Initially, you'll have a telephone conversation with one of our Clinical Resourcing Specialists, who will identify your specific requirements and find the perfect role to suit you. Questions will include what sort of contract you'd like, the type of practice you want to work in, what your long-term career objectives are, and how we can support you with them. They'll then shortlist suitable roles and arrange for you to visit the practices which are the best match for you.
Next, you'll have a clinical telephone discussion. A Clinical Support Manager will call you at a convenient time to discuss your clinical experience. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions you might have and talk one to one with a clinical colleague. The call usually takes about half an hour.
If you're successful, we'll make you a formal offer. At this point, your Clinical Resourcing Specialist will put you in touch with one of our Resourcing Support Advisors. They'll collect all of your compliance details and arrange for you to attend an induction, where you'll meet fellow clinicians, who are also new to mydentist. Inductions take place at the world-class mydentist Academy in Manchester. It covers CPR, compliance, PDP's, best practice and how to get the most from working with us.
You'll then start working at your chosen practice. During your first week, you'll benefit from a practice orientation and really get to know the team. You'll also meet and receive further support from the regional team, including the Clinical Support Manager and Clinical Director.

Why become a Dental Therapist?

Be part of a supportive team

Providing high-quality dental care isn’t a one-person task. As a Therapist, you’ll work closely with a talented and supportive practice team, experienced clinicians, and others to treat patients. Our central marketing team can help with you getting private hygiene patients directly, or alternatively, you will get regular NHS referrals direct from our peer network of clinicians.

Career growth

Dental Therapy is a rewarding career all of its own, but you’ll also have the opportunity to advance your knowledge and skills, with discounted access to a range of world-class, in-house training and CPD. This enables you to be able to move into a clinician role or provide specialist treatment in private practice.

Rewarding work

As a Dental Therapist, you’ll regularly carry out vital dental treatments, minimising dental pain and maximising oral wellbeing for patients. It’s a hugely rewarding role where you can do real good for thousands of people.

Competitive pay

Dental therapists in the UK can earn between £25,655 to £39,027. More experienced Therapists can earn between £40,057 and £45,839, and hourly private practice rates can range from around £20.00 to £50.00+.
